Tuesday, 16 August, 2011

Local Conservative councillors visited local residents and businesses this weekend to talk to them about their concerns following the riots of last week. Isle of Dogs Councillors Peter Golds, Tim Archer and Gloria Thienel were out in Castalia Square and at the Island Gardens shops in Cubitt Town, and at the Barkantine Estate, Millwall. St Katharine's & Wapping Cllr Emma Jones was in Wapping and Limehouse Cllr Craig Aston went to Pennyfields, Limehouse.

Group Leader Peter Golds said "After the terrible scenes of violence and looting that we all witnessed, it is vital that businesses are soon back on their feet, and that those who took part in the riots are brought to justice".
