Electoral fraud in Tower Hamlets makes up half of London total

Friday's Evening Standard has confirmed that almost half of all electoral fraud complaints in London over the last 5 years have come from Tower Hamlets. 

Tower Hamlets was responsible for 224 of 455 allegations for electoral fraud and malpractice made since 2012.

Tower Hamlets First Councillor pleads guilty to housing fraud

A Tower Hamlets First councillor has admitted defrauding the people of Tower Hamlets. 

Councillor Shahed Ali pleaded guilty to a charge of housing fraud, after appearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday 26 September. After pleading guilty Ali was given a five month jail term. 

350,000 more people in work

Between June and September this year unemployment fell by 37,000 and since last year 350,000 more people now have a full time job.
